My goal for today was to pass my LA written and clinical mock boards. I was actually excited for today because I knew it would be good practice. I passed the clinical as well as the written so I was pretty excited. I think the written test that they gave us was a lot easier than the real written LA board is going to be. I feel pretty good about the clinical part, but I am still a little nervous for the written test. I saw a patient this afternoon and finished his lower 2 quads. His anterior teeth were malposed, and it was hard to clean around them. It was a good learning experience. My goal for next week is to find a class 3 or 4 patient!

My goal for today was to work on my exploring skills. I feel like I am getting a lot better at feeling most of the calculus that I leave behind. There is definitely still room for improvement, but I've come a long way. My patients today went really well. I got a class 5 done this morning, and I got 2 quads of a class 3 done this afternoon. I didn't get to give any LA today, so next week will be interesting with the LA mock board. I don't feel totally prepared for it, but it will give me a good indication of what I still have left to do to prepare for the real LA boards. My goal for next week is to pass my written and clinical LA mock boards.

My goal for today was to get all of my patients out on time. I think I did it! It was a busy day! This morning wasn't too bad, because I just had two sealant patients. Sealant patients are sometimes rough though without an assistant. I did cleanings on two kids in the afternoon, and I think the x-rays took the most time to do. I didn't have to do any retakes, but both of them needed a PA along with the BWX's. I did my simulation day today, and it was a good learning experience. It gets really busy when you have to clean up and set everything back up after every patient. I filled out the charts at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions of clinic, but then it was hard to keep all the paperwork straight. My goal for next week is to work on my exploring skills.

My goal for today (Mock Boards) was to have no more than 2 calculus errors. I met my goal, because I only had 2 calculus errors, but the instructor that checked my patient in also said that she didn't qualify. I am pretty disappointed, but I guess it's good that this wasn't the real board. It was a good learning experience, but it is just frustrating that I went through all that stress and work to find a mock board patient, and then she didn't qualify. Another one of my instructors thought she would qualify last week, too bad she didn't check her in. My goal for next week is to get my patients out of here on time. I am going to be doing my simulation day, and I have 4 patients scheduled.
