My goal for today was to take 10 PA's and get a 1B done. I took the PA's last Thursday while I was CA, so I just needed to do a 1B today and my caries risk assessment PE. I got the 1B done this morning and then I did my PE on Holly Russell. It feels so good to be done with all my requirements! I can't believe that it is actually my last day of clinic ever! Clinical boards, here I come!

April 15, 2008

My goal for today was to pass off my nitrous PE and take 10 PA's. I got my PE done this afternoon, but I didn't get the 10 PA's done. I will have to do those next week. I got my class IV done today, which was so nice! I am glad that I don't have to see her again, even though she is really nice. She was a hard patient! My patient this afternoon was a class V. She wanted to use nitrous oxide, but she kept talking the whole time, so it probably wasn't working very well. My goal for next week is to take 10 PA's and get a 1B done.

My goal for today was to find a patient that would qualify for mock boards. Luckily the patient that Holly gave me qualified! He had to leave at 10:00 though, so my scaling time was shortened. It was fine though, because I only missed one spot. I missed the distal of #15, which is always a hard spot for me. Mock boards went well, and I am feeling pretty good about boards. The next two weeks will be busy because I need to finish up a few things for clinic. My goal for next week is to pass off my nitrous oxide PE and take 10 PA's.

Today was great! I got to make up a clinic day, because I missed the very first day of clinic this semester. I had my board patient come in, and I cleaned the UR and UL quads. I didn't miss any spots, so I was excited about that. I am saving the LL, and LR for boards. I took PA's of the teeth that I will be cleaning for boards, and it went ok. He has a bit of a small mouth, so some of them weren't real easy. I am worried about mock boards next week because I don't know that the patient I have is going to qualify. I gave up my patient to someone who didn't have a board patient, but I'm not sure the patient I was given is going to qualify. I just hope it all works out!

My goal for today was to get 2 quads done on my class IV patient. I did it! This morning my class IV patient came in again, and I cleaned the whole left side. She had a thick bridge of calculus on the lingual of her mandibular anteriors that was a lot of fun to take off with the ultrasonic. This afternoon I saw a new patient that was a class III. I cleaned the lower teeth today, but he was really hard to work on because he was so sensitive! My goal for next week is to find a patient that will qualify for mock boards.

My goal for today was to pass off my root debridement and periodontal file PE's. I got to see my class IV patient this morning and it was a great learning experience. #8 had class III mobility, and I had to hold it in while I scaled it. I got both of my PE's passed off too. In the afternoon I think I found my board patient! I haven't taken x-rays yet, but I'm pretty sure he will qualify. It just scares me to decide on a board patient because I don't think I'll ever be 100% sure they will qualify. My goal for next time is to get 2 quads done on my class IV patient.

March 4, 2008

My goal for today was to find a class 3 or 4 patient. I did find a class 3 patient this afternoon, and the 2 quads that I did today finished my class 3 requirements. Now I just need 4 more quads of a class 4. My patient didn't show up this morning, so I tried to find somebody else, but I didn't have any luck. It was great though, because I got to do LA on the Midtown patients and Chanci's patient. I got a total of 4 LA experiences today! My goal for next time is to pass off my last root debridement PE and my periodontal file PE.
